Thats some sick shit right there.

Not to be cruel, but some things just shouldn't be. I'ld be relieved to, it beats the other option of paying massive medical bills for treatments & the like just to extend a misserable (probably painful) life for a few years.

    I don't think that's real - no way.

It seems like the parents are actually relieved the baby died within hours, and I assume it's the dad that's parading around the baby on a bowl.
I noticed that as well. I also thought it this was strange:

The “baby” weighed 2kg at birth and was born after the normal nine-month gestation period.

Why did the use quotes around baby? The poor kid may have had some problems, but gol 'darnit people, its still a baby.
Good observation, just because it's abnormal it almost seems the journalist/writer isn't ready to accept it as a baby...

It is real. I saw an article about it in a Nepali newspaper. I am originally from nepal, and have seen worse too. Believe me there is nothing surreal about that.

It's after seeing something so sad as that when I stop and say a prayer of thanks to the Lord. Thankfull that our son was born and still is, healthy and living a good life...

Why are there so many songs about rainbows
And what's on the other side?
Rainbows are visions, but only illusions,
And rainbows have nothing to hide.
So we've been told and some choose to believe it
I know they're wrong, wait and see.
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection,
The lovers, the dreamers and me.
Who said that every wish would be heard and answered
When wished on the morning star?
Somebody thought of that, and someone believed it,
And look what it's done so far.
What's so amazing that keeps us stargazing
And what do we think we might see?
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection,
The lovers, the dreamers, and me.
All of us under its spell,
We know that it's probably magic...
... Have you been half asleep? And have you heard voices? I've heard them calling my name.
... Is this the sweet sound that calls the young sailors?
The voice might be one and the same
I've heard it too many times to ignore it
    It's something that I'm s'posed to be...
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection,
The lovers, the dreamers, and me.

Laa, da daa dee da daa daa,
La laa la la laa dee daa doo...
