A suspected plane-pigeon encounter shortly after takeoff this afternoon prompted a Northwest Airlines plane back to Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport this afternoon, an official said.
The plane  NWA Flight 195 bound for Las Vegas  landed safely, and no injuries have been reported, said a spokeswoman for NWA-parent Delta.
