    The Best Internet Browser

As most other Internet users, my first web browser was Internet Explorer. I didn't know that other options even existed and I saw no reason to switch when I learned that there was. Maybe it was because I had nothing to compare it to. After many years of using Internet Explorer, I tried Firefox and Chrome. I liked them for various reasons, but then someone recommended the new Opera web browser. After some days of getting used to the new software, I was sold.

It's clear that the creators behind Opera has worked hard on making a browser that's efficient, user friendly, and has more features than any other web browser I've tried. Opera (version 10) is more than just a web browser, it's also an Internet suite with built-in features such as...

... An e-mail client (similar to Outlook) which makes it easier to read e-mail and browse the Internet at the same time.
    ... A download manager.
... A voice control which allows you to use the browser without a keyboard or mouse.
... A mouse gesture feature which uses patterns of mouse movement that trigger browser actions.
... A user friendly way to control nearly every aspect of the browser using only the keyboard, and the option to modify every keyboard shortcuts. It's also the only major browser to include support for spatial navigation.
... A text-to-speech feature which can be used to make the computer read pages and marked text in a voice. (Only major browser with this feature)
... A feature intended for slower Internet connections called Opera Turbo. This can also be used to access websites that are blocked at work because the feature compresses web pages via Opera's own servers.
    ... A built-in spell-checker which is a must-have when posting on the Internet.
... An auto-save function which is a life-saver in case the connection is interrupted or you accidentally exit the web page. Opera lets you go back and the text will still be there like nothing happened.

Opera has more features than any other web browsers. If you still have doubts, check out Wikipedia's Comparison of web browsers.

I have used Opera for nearly two years and it's my favorite Internet browser. Opera has received great reviews and received several awards like About.com's The 2010 Reader's Choice Award for best web browser. Opera was also awarded "The 2010 Best Mobile Web Browser", receiving an amazing 65 % of the votes.

I feel like I'm advertising now so I will cap off with asking:
    Who's your favorite?

I admit, one reason I made this thread was so I can become the first one to use the new poll.

    No, just kidding!

... but I did want to try it out.

I like Chrome, but admittedly I have not used Opera. I might give it a shot, but I really am satisfied with Chrome.

LOL! Netscape is so old. I read somewhere that it went from a 90% marked share to less than 1%, all because of Internet Explorer. Do you sill use it? Because your the first one I've heard of who still uses Netscape.

    Re: Best Internet Browser

I could care less about all the bells & whistles. My main interest is speed.

Of the 3 following browsers, which one has the fastest speed/performance

    Firefox

    Chrome

    Opera
