Re: Band reccomendation thread - prt 2

I just got back from the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, so I'm kinda in bluegrass mode right now. If you like that kind of music, I'd recommend checking out the Yonder Mountain String Band and Leftover Salmon. Uncle Tupelo is also a band I've been listening to a lot lately; they broke up quite a while ago however, to form Son Volt and Wilco.
    I am a dipshit!!!

Within Temptation...song called Ice Queen is pretty awesome.
I also recommend Dream Theater, Savatage and a lil known band named the Regime

My favorite band of all time is Pantera....no need to introduce them I'm sure, but I've been listening to Atreyu, Dog Fashion Disco, 36 Crazyfists, Rebel meets Rebel( Dime{R.I.P.}, Rex, and Vinnie from Pantera, with vocals by David Allen Coe.....Coe's voice takes some getting used to, he's an old country singer, but the cd is actually pretty good.), Dry Kill Logic, Element Eighty, to name a few. They are all pretty much Metal, so if you don't like metal stay away, if you do, give them a listen. Dog Fashion Disco is like Mr. Bungle, except not nearly as weird.

I figured i would throw this out there "Wolfmother" very odd band, if your into older music like me(60's 70's). They only have one record just recoreded recently, i was really stunned when i first heard them, as i continue to listen there like cross of Pink Floyd, Bad Company, Black Sabath, ect.

Gotta check this out, modern band bringing out the old tunes, love it.

Props too PPE he was first to mention them in another thread.

Going to see Joe Bonamassa tonight. He plays a guitar like angels sing. Saw him a couple years ago and he was great. I'm stoked.

Love to hear is guitar playing. Some of my personal favs are mostly what is considered progressive rock. Queensryche, Porcupine Tree, recently discovered a band from Australia called Karnivool that is quickly heading to the top of my Favs. But love the old stuff as well Zeppelin and huge fan of Pink Floyd and Roger Waters.
