looks like they are going to get soriano, too bad i was hoping the dodgers would make a good offer for him.

meh... Soriano is a horrible defensive player and Thome is there DH, so this doesn't really worry me that much.

Oh come on now, I wouldn't say Soriano is a horrible defensive player.. He really is the total package.. That guy hits for average, power, can run, and steal bases with ease.. He is a great player.. Let me also point out that I am not a Sox fan, or a Soriano fan...

Define huge upgrade? Podsednik is one of the best leadoff hitters in baseball. He doesn't hit with the power of Soriano but they have other guys that are there for power. Podsednik is the best base stealer in the game.

Ok, I'll take that back and say a below average defensive player, do you like that better? :lol: Either way, I don't really see where they're going to play him. He costs too much money to be the back up DH to Thome. I definately wouldn't replace Podsednik with him.

define huge upgrade? ok. considering he has 4 less steals then podsednik, he has 28 more home runs, almost 30 more RBI's, 7 more runs on a weaker hitting team while podsednik is batting in front of thome and konerko and dye, has a better on base percentage and is almost slugging .600 compared to podsedniks .394. if thats not a huge upgrade what is?

I hope the ChiSox don't get him... He's a great player. I know I'd be thrilled if the Twins got their hands on him.
