Attention Chicago Natives/Travelers
So on the way in to work this morning the wife and I were talking about the Twins standings and the matchup this weekend against the division leading ChiSox.
Then it struck us...why not go to Chicago and watch the game?
So either tonight after work or tomorrow morning we are going to drive to Chicago.
My question is does anybody have any good hotel recommendations?
I'd like to be as close to downtown/Michagan Ave as possible, but don't want to spend $200 a night.
I'd also like to hit up a Blues joint.
Any good ones?
Last time I went to Blue Chicago (the smaller one) and had a good time there so wouldn't be opposed to going back, but don't want to be too far from the hotel.
Anything else to do or see with one night in Chicago?
Suggestions and opinions welcome!

Leave it to another parent to have that issue be the first thing on their mind.
;D
We're optimistic that the wife's parents will take him overnight.
They usually jump at any chance to watch him for us since they only see him a couple times a month.
We were hoping to get two nights away (leave tonight) but not sure if that is in the best interst of our son, or the grandparents.
;D
I don't think we've ever left him anywhere for 2 nights in a row, so we'll probably just leave Saturday morning.
I'm pretty sure the wife couldn't handle being away from him for 2 days anyways.
I'm used to it because of business travel on a semi-regular basis.

Re: Attention Chicago Natives/Travelers
I have an open couch

lol kidding.... for being in the travel industry I don't know the area that I live in very well so I can't be much of a help there.
I'd say The House of Blues for some entertainment.
But, again, I don't get into the city... well ever... so I'm really no help
Lance and I were thinking about going to one of the games this weekend, I'm not sure if it will be saturday or sunday though.... let me know which one you guys end up going to.

Re: Attention Chicago Natives/Travelers
go to hotwire.com
you can choose which area specifically youd like a hotel in (itl ask which part of downtown), then choose how many stars you want it to be, then ul get it at a huge discountPeople who see life as anything more than pure entertainment are missing the point.
