Thread: Athens HOT nights

so things have been getting kinda wild over here in greece.. not sure if any of you have seen it.

I'll post some photo's later, i had to pick up the wife at her work, it's about 3 blocks north of the athens center square, sintagma. where the xmass tree was... pre lit.

we walked through most of the stores at around 5:15 pm, and I was amazed at how many bricks, blocks of marble, broken glass, and stores broken into. it was a mess. by the time we got home, bout an hour later, there were allready more riots going on.

fotini got some great shots of things there, and i'll see if i can get hers.

all is ok though, i live a good 20 min drive from the center, and nothing around here is gov so they don't wanna burn things near us.

I saw this on the news the other night but I'm not quite sure what it is all about. I think I heard them mention that it all started when some youth got shot by the police???...please elaborate.

Police from what I understand very very very unecciarily shot and killed a student, other students didn't take it well.
Riots followed.
