Well this is kind of my area of expertise! Saab's are know for their safety and good relability. My friend owns a 9-3. It has good power from a mid range up 3000 rpms and up. Yet its no hot rod. Nice instrument panel with good egronomics. The sound system is decent. The seats are very comfotable. It gets good gas mileage and has very few warrenty issues. I think for 17k @ 27k for miles its a real good deal.

I have a 2003 Saab 9-3 and love it. It has this cool sport-mode button that you can press that allows it to shift a lot quicker. It's pretty fun to drive and I've had it for two years w/ no probs.

BTW, tough loss today (look at my sig)

How do ya like them apples?!

Re: Anyone own a Saab 9-3 or 9-5 or any Saab?

I've been into cars since i was like 13 years old. (I'm 30 years now) I spend my off time restoring old cars, yet I also know quite a bit from working on other newer stuff. I'm sort of involved on the tuner scene and have scene a lot of saab's. Yet again older cars are more my thing. Anyway, I think cars are cool, that is my reason for expertise.

Now if you want my opinion and you want to go fast Go look at a 2002 - 2004 Dodge Neon SRT-4. It has a lot of performance stock with huge upgrade potential.

Also to those who are talking about Vw's they look nice, sound good, but reliability and fit and finish is poor. They recently have had huge issues with engine reliability. I to love the look of the passat, but worry about the engine.
