Anybody from NE Minnesota with camping info
Hey, I'm looking to take the gf camping this summer. We've done a bunch of the NW Ontario sites, and are thinking about maybe somewhere in Norther Minnesota. I've done some looking around, but I'd love to hear if anybody has been camping up there, and can recommend any particular places?
We'd prefer an actual park, not just out in the bush somewhere. We'd be tenting it. I'm looking for somewhere between Duluth and the MN/CAN border, preferably closer to the the border than duluth, and not too far off the highway.
One thing I want to check out is the Devils Kettle waterfall, near Grand Marais. Its a waterfall that disappears underground, and aparantly nobody can figure out where it comes out. There's a campsite there, but aparantly its a better attraction than campground.
Any info would be great!

Is she hot? We probably could give you better suggestions if you would post some photos. :woohoo:
Well anyway are you open to going a bit farther east? If so I might suggest trying the Apostle Islands off Bayfield,Wi. It is a pretty cool place if you can learn to ignore all of the cheeseheads

I'd prefer not to. I live in Canada, driving down to duluth would take about 5 hours, going to anywhere in WI would be even longer, I'd like to limit the drive if I can, but I will consider it.

I've sent you a PM, hopefully get a few details about this place.
As for the cheeseheads, I can handle them. I'll be sure to wear my Favre jersey

I Bleed Purple I think I can help you out have done a lot of camping in that area and you will love it.
Campground - Lamb's Resort (218) 663-7292 Lambsresort.com
By Schroeder / Tofte - Middle of all the best areas
Private camp ground right on the lake - it was well maintained and clean - about 80 tent sites and some are right on the lake.
Here are some places that you have to check out.
Palisade Head - best view on the lake
Temperance River
Manitou and Little Manitou Rivers
Cascade River
If you haven't seen them before come a little farther south and hit Gooseberry Falls and Split Rock Lighthouse
All the Rivers up there have waterfalls some are a block off the lake others are a mile or more but they all have beautiful scenery as you are hiking.
Hope this helps you out.
