    Actually it was a different George...no, not George Steinbrenner, although his Yankees have certainly created an empire in baseball with their 26 World Championships (compared to Boston's measly 6...LOL).

    No, the correct George is George Washington, who commented that New York would be the seat of the new empire...or words to that effect.
