Animal Trivia Game
Know more about Animals than I do football...but wanted to see if some of you could add to my knowledge on the subject with this trivial game.
Tell us something you find interesting about any Animal on the Planet. I will start with North America. Some you Northern States/Canada/Alaska fans around here may already know this one but here goes.
Did you know that the lower back mollers on the N.A.Elk are Ivory?
Cheers!

Did you know rats cannot vomit?
Rats are effective scavengers, and will eat a small amount of something and then wait. If there are no ill effects, they will continue to eat. Rats lack the ability to vomit, and are therefore unable to expel the poison from their bodies. The most effective poisons are tasteless and odourless in lethal doses.

Re: Animal Trivia Game
Do you know what determines the sex of an alligator?
Whether an alligator is a male or female is determined by the temperature of the nest where the egg is hatched – 90 to 93 degrees Fahrenheit (32.2 to 33.8 degrees Celsius) will make it a male; 82 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit (27.8 to 30 degrees Celsius) will make it a female.

Re: Animal Trivia Game
What color is the fur of a polar bear?
White, you say?
You would be wrong.
Polar bear fur is actually transparent. It looks white because of the way it reflects light, but in fact the skin underneath the fur is dark in colour. So don't judge a book by its colour.

Re: Animal Trivia Game
My wife loves horses...she told me that the closest animal to a horse is a rabbit (that's why we have 7 pet bunnies). If a rabbit had longer front legs, and its back legs were stretched out, it would look like a miniature horse. Also, neither of them can vomit.

Re: Animal Trivia Game
Wow...Very cool folks...I did not know about a few of these.
Temperature determines Alligator sex...that is also the case with Crocs...and with sea turtles.
Thanks to all participating so far...
