I don't support Vigilantism but I'll admit the first thing that came to my mind was......
If I ever got my hands on a guy that ran over my kid from doing something stupid like racing around in the neighborhood..........
Well anyway, its what I thought of first.

Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Re: Angry crowd kills passenger in car that struck child
This, however, doesn't look like some guy that ran over a kid by doing something stupid. The car in which Morales, 40, was a passenger had entered an apartment complex's parking lot when it struck a 2-year-old boy, Piatt said. The boy was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver got out of the car to check on the child and was confronted by several people, Piatt said. When they attacked the driver, Morales got out of the car to protect the driver and was attacked as well.
First, the kid was in the parking lot.
Why is a two year old running around in a parking lot.
Second, the car must have been going fairly slow, since the kid didn't have any serious injuries.
Third, the driver of the car didn't try and run.
He stopped to check on the child.
I hope the people in that crown, or at least the leader if there was one, get charged.Zeus wrote:

Re: Angry crowd kills passenger in car that struck child
For all that crowd knew, that child was about to die. Likely if it had, many would feel differently about what happened. It appeals to our sense of justice to protect the young and the weak, but it just goes to show when you take justice into your own hands, even if you think you know all the facts, you are at risk of making a huge mistake...
Have I ever told you what an outstanding humanitarian I am?

Re: Angry crowd kills passenger in car that struck child
The article doesn't really give enough information as to how the accident took place.
If the driver was doing something stupid...such as racing around a neighborhood, than yeah I'd like to douse his testicles in lighterfluid and toss the match.
If the parents were being careless and letting their child run through a parking lot, then maybe the parents should have been the victims to the mob.
The story is a poor one with limited facts and information.
