Because there is a rule that every team must have at least one representative on the team. So someone from the Royals had to be picked.

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

I knew a lot of you guys would be dissapointed that Fransico Liriano didn't make the American League All-Star Roster.

And that's a shame, because he's a great young pitcher.

But the American League All-Star Roster is cool with me, because 6 White Sox made it.

i was amazed that Joe Mauer didn't get the start!!! He could be the first player in like 40 years to end a season above .400!!! I am soo glad Ichiro got the start, i am a big Mariner fan, and he has been pulling through the last couple of months!! I don't know why Raul Ibanez didn't make it over Jose Lopez. He has been good at 2B, but Ibanez is dominating the OF and leads the Mariners in HR!!! but its all good, i am glad they got 2 Mariners on the team!!!

Sorry, have to vote for Velander, Tigers have five legit all star pitchers actually. (check out their stats). Dustin Justin with that 100 mph fastball, Kenny with 10 wins, Bonderman with the best slider it the league, Nate with a 3.14 era, and Zach miner with a 5 straight wins since coming up when our other allstar Mike Maroth went down.

The starters are a popularity contest, pure and simple. Playing in the big cities gets you a huge head start over others. It's amazing that Mauer got within 17,000 votes of being the starter.

Oh - and it's been 65 years since Ted Williams was the last person to hit .400 (he hit .406) in a season.
