Wow that does look pretty cool! But wouldn't there be an issue with the wind? Seriously.
The Denver International Airport uses a similar design.
I would imagine they can get pretty good winds over there from storm cells considering the mountains are a short jaunt away.
The cables that hold the "tarp" in place are very thick.
I'm sure it is engineered to withstand winds over 150 mph. Just a guestimate.

These angles give a little better idea what it will really look like. I think it's an awesome idea.

Also... looks like they can take the "Sail" down.

This plan was actually released over a month ago.
Basically it's an affordable alternative to retractable roof that would cost 150 mil.
Although it doesn't have the climate control factor, it's still a pretty clever solution IMO.

Also, I was reading a Rays fan forum when this design was unveiled and they were discussing the seating capacity.
Some thought that 34,000 was a little on the low side, but the general consensus was that 34,000 seats was 32,000 more than they would need lol.

    Chuch.

You don't need climate control in FL...the only concern would be the heat and that would be managed by the shade of the canopy.
Still might get a bit hot...but its not like sitting in a ballpark is too strenuous (sp?).

Well, I may be borderline...but isn't that the correct spelling after all?

Screw sailboats! PP.O does not need a sailboat! They should design an amazing submarine!
    LMAO....don't start that again!

The stadium looks pretty cool. I am all about innovative/attractive designs on stadiums. Anything that doesn't resemble the Metrodome, I am all for.

They don't get wind in Florida
Hence why there are zero waves and zero surfers in Florida.

I sorta like the design... at least it's something new.
Hurricanes and tropical storms get pretty windy I've heard.
Rock out with your cock out!!!
