Agent 0
I know most of our members on Purplepride.org don't follow the NBA, but I just wanted to take a moment to discuss Gilbert Arenas.
He plays PG for the Washington Wizards.
Last year, he averaged 29.3 points per game, yet he's still one of the most overlooked players in the NBA. ( And that's probably because he plays for the Washington Wizards, who haven't been a very sucsessful franchise.)
This season, he scored 60 points against the Los Angeles Lakers and outplayed Kobe Bryant in every way imaginable.
He's also a very humble superstar, and is one of the few NBA players you can look up to.
Today, he scored 51 points and hit a game winning 3 pointer as timed expired to beat Del Rio' Utah Jazz 114-111.
;D

And what makes it even better, is that he did it on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Re: Agent 0
Actually when he played the Lakers Kobe out played him, besides the total scoring numbers.
Kobe scored 45 points, nothing to frown at. His stat line looked liek this.
45 points, 15-24 from the floor, 8-10 from the line, 7-11 from 3 point land, 8 rebounds, 10 assists, 1 steal, 1 block.
Arenas had.
60 points, 17-32 from the floor, 21 of 27 from the line, 5-12, 8 rebounds, 8 assists, no blocks, 1 steal.
So it actually looks like Kobe outplayed Arenas in every possible way besides getting fouled.
I'm not a laker fan, nor am I a serious NBA fan, but I just had this exact discussion with my friend, and brought up the same stats, so I figured why not say it again.

Re: Agent 0
Well Kobe scored 62 points and he did that in only 3 quarters! :P
But yeah. Gilbert is an absolute stud. He is just playing lights out right now. He sure is fun to watch.
I find it funny though how when Gilbert or anyone else scores a lot of points they are great players, but when Kobe does it he is a ball hog and selfish. :
Nobody likes Kobe.

Re: Agent 0
Obviously Arenas is one of the best players in the NBA, but he is definately overshadowed because of the hype machine created around players like Lebron and Kobe.
Nash has won two MVPs, Kobe is in the 2nd biggest market in America, D-Wade is in Miami, and LeBron was heralded as the next MJ coming out of high school...they all have had WAY more hype surrounding them for their entire careers, whereas Arenas hasn't played on that many great teams or been on the big stage that often.
