After 4 years of hard work and investment, a life long dream
Of mine is about to come true, and this is only the begining..
I'll be leaving for the Philippines on Sunday (After watching the Vikes on Direct TV) to be part of a new chapter in my life...
Over the past 4 years, I've worked hard and invested much time and money, to help bring a new Cockfighting Arena to my wifes island in Cebu...
Myself, along with a group of 24 other investors are now set to see our dream come true.
The arena is named SUGARLANDS, and is in the town of Talisay,Cebu......
Our first event is receiving national coverage in the Philippines and will even be televised there.....On Sept. 23 we open the doors and will start out with a big bang and a very first in Philippine History, a Short Knife Derby..
I will have 4 stags entered in the derby myself, this equals two entries because it is a 2 stag derby........
During my investments, I also paid for my Father In-Law to me a founding member and owner. He will be one of the 25 owners, but he doesn't know this yet. It is a present from me to him, I will also now spend more time on expanding my Papa Alfons Gamefarm, which I have registered and named "The No Mercy Gamefarm" of Toledo City, Cebu..
Cockfighting is a billion dollar a year sporting industry in the Philippines, they take there breeding-training-and fighting derbys very seriously over there. Much like we take our football and other sporst so seriously..
Here is a newspaper artical from Cebu, giving notice to this ground breaking event..
I will bring home some pics and stories of the derbys outcome...
here is a link to the paper......... http://www.sunstar.com.ph/static/ceb/2005/09/14/sports/rey.back.in.cebu.today.html
I'll be sure to watch ESPN over there and I'll have to drop in on one of the many Internet Cafes they have there to say hi...
Go Vikes,
Viking Ned
