Exactly.
The US-Mexican war was a pretty big deal.
This would be the same as having an ad run in Germany that said "In an Absolute World" over this map:

See it now?
Yes it was, and a lot of people believe they are slowly and passively trying to get this land back by immigrating across the border, settling in the territories that were under Mexican rule (Spaniards), having lots of kids, teaching them spanish and mexican culture and effectively being an extension of Mexico.

I see both sides, but the ad gives way to a lot more than just the good old days.

Absolut knew what they were doing and it no doubt served the purpose they were after.

It would be pretty funny to see Absolut doing the German domination map in its closer neighbor of Germany.

Ooooh, much better example!
Don't think they are big Vodka drinkers though

Yes, the point is getting across I believe.
Very heated topics that don't take much to get them fueled.

Germans didn't originally own that land. Native Americans lived on the land until we claimed it for ourselves.

Mexicans didn't originally own the land either. The vast majority of the indigenous population died off during the 300 years of Spanish colonization.
The US-Mexican war was fought between two colonial nations, not any government of the native Americans.

I think it's pretty funny. Instead of people in Arizona and California bitching about Mexicans coming across the border, we here in Oregon would all be bitching about Californians coming across the border.

Oh...wait...
:

At the rate the dollar is going, the Peso will probably exceed its value soon anyways, and we'll all wish we were part of Mexico.

You win. But people are still dumb for bitching about a Mexican ad.

You are correct, maybe you can rewrite it with "In a perfect world" and showing a T-rex eating Barbara Bach. ;D

I like how Nodak loves to flex his "Knowledge" on PPO... That's like picking a fight with a toddler...

"Look, I read a book once...."

Haha... but really, Happy birthday Nodak.
