what a wierd story....

guess it could be a hoax too? Many say the family is strange. Either way I believe they are, becuase who puts their child in a baloon full or helium in the first place and/or make a nasty hoax like this?

Apparently they found that the father actually called news stations and the media before calling the police.

Report/Statement was that the older son said he saw the boy in the basket on the lower part of the saucer when it took off.

Possibilities.

1.) Kid went up and fell out.
Not likely because they said the door wasn't breached.
2.) Kid is on the ground hiding because he accidentally launched dad's helium balloon.
3.) The initial story was fabricated and it was a hoax.

Family was on ABC's Wife Swap

Maybe they are attention starved.

The father is a storm chaser. The balloon was possibly for storm chasing.
