With 6 to 9 ft. seas predicted for the weekend, I'll be.....
Not going out in the new boat for sure, instead my buddy and I are getting ready to leave for Newport,RI..
We will be fishing all night from a bridge that goes from the main land to Goat Island...
We will not really be fishing but "Squiding" Yes that's right SQUIDING....
Not only are they a blast to catch but we use some of our catch for future fishing trips for Swordfish,Tuna, and Fluke.....Personaly, I enjoy some for fresh table fair.....Fried, Marinara Sauce with Squid over linguini...Stuffed Squid, Grilled.....It truly is great to eat if cooked properly.
Best part about catching them is, when you go to pull the hook out, they usually squirt ink all over the place and everyone gets covered...LOL..
My friend went the other day and caught over 250 in five hours....
Hopefully we will have a good night tonight...

Fried squid, also known as "Calamari" is very good and probably the easiest way for someone to accept for the first time to try..
I'de say it's a cross between fried clam strips and fried shrimp.....
If you see it in a restaurant (usually italian restaurants ) I suggest trying it. Most places serve it with a side of their Pasta Sauce (Red Spagetti type) and you can dip it in that.....
It is very good......But personaly, I'll eat it in a number of ways.....
I'll post some pics of the catch tomorrow.....

My dad, brother and I take a fishing trip up to Canada each year to Dogskin Lake, it is a fly-in only lake, two years ago I caught a 42 1/2 inch northern, a 27 inch walleye, and my dad reeled in a 29 inch walleye, it is some of the best fishing i've done! I've always wanted to go fishing for swordfish or something fun like that but it's hard to fit my dad's and my scedule's together. Hopefully some day though!

How big do the squid get that you catch?
