The 4 newest members of the family..Still deciding on names

Our boys are now 3.5 and 17 months. So, i figure it's time for their first pet. I'll be doing the work, but for now, it'll be us having them before they know what to do. Maybe later, when they know how to feed it and take it for a walk, we'll get a dog. We started with 5, but mourned the loss of one this morning. We had a proper burial at sea(toilet). Their all goldfish and look the same, so there's no point in naming them. Anyone else have fish, or other tank dwellers?

Props for you.
I've never been able to keep a fish alive for more than 24hrs.
Much better luck with a dog for me.

Wildwoman has a 50 Gal freshwater tank.
Only thing she hasn't killed are two Cichlids she got (about the size of a quarter) about 5 years ago.
They are now big enough for me to think about slabbing them out for dinner.

We thought about a glow tank. However, the glow fish are $5.17 each. They will be making their own money before we spend that much on them. I think next will be a dog, but not until we move. The nice thing about fish vs. dogs, fish we feed 1 time every 3 days, dogs are 3 times in 1 day.

Disclaimer: The pet shop did say once every 3 days for a month, then once per day. I'm not going to starve them.

I had a Beta fish that lived for a little over 3 years.

We just got our two year old a Beta. His name is Franklin the Fish. She loves him to death. I think the average Beta lives between 2-4 years ... so they are not a bad fish to go for.
