I entered my dad's office pool for NCAAB, and for the record, i don't follow baketball at all, so i have only a slight clue who's any good.
I just entered for fun.

anyway, Here's the basic rundown of my pics

Elite Eight:

LOU over ND

Kansas over KanSt

Tex over Mem

Duke over UCLA

FINAL Four:

Duke over TEX

Lou over Kansas

Duke won't win. They have absolutely no inside presence so if they're cold from the 3 point arc, they will be an early exit. Three point shooting teams with no real big men generally don't do all that well in the tournament as high seeds. I could see them losing as early as the 2nd round.

Kansas State WILL NOT make it to the elite eight. Don't pick them based solely on beasley. They are really a sub par team in total. I have them winning their first game but going no further and that's not even a good guarantee. If they had played any other 6 seed I think they would lose in the first round.

I am not so sure about Notre Dame or Lousville making it through the east regional. That's probably the toughest bracket IMO and Harangody is probably not enough to get past Hansbrough (trust me, i watch enough UNC games). Hansbrough will get Harangody into foul trouble early and they won't be able to rely on him on the offensive end. Not to mention Alex Stepheson and Deon Thompson aren't slouches either on the boards. I don't see carolina going out until at least the elite eight. They don't really play any of the best competition until then.. however having watched them they are a team that can go cold and is prone for the upset. It'll be interesting to watch them. Also take into account that the East Regional is played in Raleigh and Charlotte, Raleigh being literally 15 minutes or less from chapel hill (I live in Raleigh, my brother lives in CH) Carolina will be able to practice at their own facilities, sleep in their own beds, and play with their home crowd behind them.


But this is the fun with the tournament. I could tell you right now that you know nothing and you're completely wrong but the tournament is so unpredictable. Who knows.. you could get every pick right.. But anyways that's what I think. Take it for what it's worth.

Like i said i know next to nothing about basketball, but is like football as in anything can happen in these tournaments.

They barely beat NC State... gotta agree with Zeus. I don't have them making it past the "Mediocre 32"

Although I agree with duke not going far, don't take the "barely beat NC state" and translate it into the tournament. We were bad this year but anything can happen playing at our home court with 20,000 in red going crazy. Rivalry games on tobacco road you throw the records out the window.

Oh and by the way NC state should have won that game. Demarcus nelson got away with a HUGE hook on the final possession that led to the game winning free throws. It should have been NC State ball up 1 (likely) shooting free throws. That's the advantage that Duke has.. they play 8 on 5 basketball at all times.
