Minnesota wins tonight 78-72 over a tough SD State team. Gophers were out rebounded badly. Brings their record to 7-1

Thank god for the big ten network!
Was able to watch the game in Colorado.
Tubby has them playing well.
I see 8-1 going into the tourney in the desert.
Who's all in this?
Anyways good game tonight.
Looks like this club will be much much better than last season.

Minnesota Ties Last Year's Win Record

The Minnesota Gopher Basketball Team won just nine game ALL LAST YEAR! Tonight, they tied that record with a 77-32 win over Nicholls State in their first round game at the "Duel In The Desert" in Las Vegas. They now have a 9-1 record under Tubby Smith.
Nicholls State was not a push-over team. They only lost by 10 points to then #1 North Carolina earlier in the season.

Gophers win 10th game
The Minnesota Gophers dumped Kennesaw State in their second game at the "Duel In The Desert" tourney 83-66. Kennesaw has only won two games this year. The next test will be against UNLV and that will be a big game tomorrow night. The Gophers next game following the "Duel In The Desert" will be their Big 10 opener against Michigan State on January 5th.
In the meantime, Kentucky lost again this time to San Diego 81-72.

I'm holding my hopes until we get into the Big 10 part of the season starting in Jan.
These teams we're playing aren't anything special.

Minnesota Falls To UNLV
The Minnesota Gophers got "pasted" by UNLV 81-64 in the final game of the "Duel in the Desert."
The Rebels (11-3) won their fifth straight and have won eight of their last nine as they head into conference play. UNLV went 11-for-20 from 3-point range Sunday and that was the difference in the game.
Blake Hoffarber led Minnesota with 13 points and four rebounds. Dan Coleman added 10 points and eight rebounds for the Gophers.
UNLV scored the game's first eight points and never trailed. The Rebels' lead grew to 42-28 by halftime, thanks to 7-for-14 from 3-point shooting, and 7-for-7 from the free-throw line.
The Rebels built their largest lead of the game, 57-35, with 14:24 to play.
Minnesota out-rebounded the Rebels 38-34 but was outscored 18-2 in fast-break points.
Next up for the Gophers Michigan State as they begin Big 10 play.
Their record
now is 10-2.
