Quinn and Smith take home awards
Brady Quinn won the Maxwell Award given to player of the year beating out Troy Smith.
Troy Smith won the Davey O'Brien Award as the nation's best quarterback at the College Football Awards show and was honored as player of the year by the Walter Camp Foundation.

Re: Quinn and Smith take home awards
That's another thing about college football awards I don't understand.
How can Brady Quinn be the best college football player, but not the best quarterback?
I undertand that different people decide who gets each award, but it still doesn't make sense.
I'm excited for the big award tonight, though I think Smith is a lock for it.

Re: Quinn and Smith take home awards
I just watched the special on the Heisman telecast on Brady Quinn, and is that guy great or what? Graduating with a double major in 3.5 years and he's a Heisman finalist? That's ridiculous.
He's a hell of a quarterback, a well spoken kid and a player that has been groomed to be an NFL player by Weis. I would LOVE to have him be a Viking.
I know our chances of that are slim, and Tarvaris is supposed to be the future, but man oh man it would be great to have him.

He is amazing but you're right the vikings would never be able to get him unless they traded.
I don't even know who they could trade to get that high of a pick.
