Thread: Over-rated! Five college football teams with too much hype

Thankfully, Hawaii didn't get a title game, they were owned by the SEC.
Definitely helps to play in a weak conference.

georgia was a really good team, a team that could have played in the national championchip and really could have beat lsu.

this year will be different. we are playing florida at florida first game. funny thing though is that the gators are too scared to play a return game in hawaii where we are notorious for beating good teams( alabama, arizona state, washington, michigan state, boise state, byu, cincinnati, etc.

if you want overhyped, look at notre dame and ohio state, they played a bunch of weak teams too and they get to be talked about
or put in the national championchip game even though
they arent even ranked top 5. see florida spanking ohio state a few years ago.

notre dame is the worst, they can be very bad and on tv every week.

come back with more educated facts next time.

And by playing in the WAC, that makes Hawaii weak.


OSU's schedule was weak, but you cannot even put them in the same class as Hawaii and Notre Dame.

Even up the playing field by creating a TRUE playoff system and watch the Big Conferences' recruiting advantages slowly go away.

although I do like them, i have to say one team that is overrated is USC.
Sure they are good, great even, but they are always picked to be the best, and they lost two games last year, once against stanford!
They play in a weak conference, which is probably why they had such an impressive win streak

too bad the pac 10 didnt want to accept hawaii many years ago. no conference is man enough to accept many supposed non bcs teams. till that happens, bcs schools and fans cant complain if some underdog team runs the table an entire season. esp when some big name schools dont want to play and the team cant fill its schedule.

its unfortunate that hawaii went against georgia, because if you put utahs bcs season or even boise states 06 campaign against georgia, georgia will win 9 out of 10 times. maybe even all 10.

answer me this, how does ohio state lose its second of the last game on the schedule against illinois and make it to the championchip game
while being ranked 7th? usually you lose that late in the season, guaranz you not going to make the championchip game. i smell a lot of east coast bias in votes.

until bcs system is scraped and a playoff system is created, fans will create major turmoil.

exactly. everythings fair game.

compare the recruiting budgets for all the schools and there is a huge difference. its too bad most of the bcs committtee came from big name schools. they are in favor of keeping it bcs instead of even, fair, playoff system rules because a lot of traditional powerhouses would go down in a hurry and could lose lot of prestige in a short time.

Look at what the other teams ranked ahead of OSU did the last week or so of the season.
That's why OSU was ranked #2.
