I'm all for students finishing school but the top notch athletes aren't going to risk 5 years of playing college ball for an injury.
That's their choice...but the "top notch" athletes amount to less than 1 percent of the total...many more athletes end up leaving school with NO pro prospects....and no degree.
ANYTHING that would keep them engaged in the school process would be good.
They could space out the credit hours so that their workload is less as a reward for putting in the time to practice and travel for games.
It would also allow the season to be expanded to include a REAL PLAYOFF system instead of the BCS (kaka del rio Championship Series).

ANYTHING that would try to cram school down someones throat for 1 more year as if 4 years was not enough to get thier attention is a joke. If you cant "turn it around" in 4 years of free college and get at least a good start, that is just genetics.

I also dont see the need for a med year either if they already have 5...

I do like the idea of just being honest about it and calling it the 5 that it already is.

5 years isnt bad imo, i mean i juts started college this year and unless i cram a ton of credits in, or take summer classes with will take me 4 1/2 years, and as long as they are in school why shouldnt they be able to take part in the "activities"

    Thanks josdin00
