What TF kind of a fan lets other people decide or influence which team he should support????

Pick a team YOU like or is YOUR home state team & support them.

He's from England, he doesn't have a home state team. And if he's just getting into following college ball, then there's not reason not to ask for suggestions.

The best advice to give anyone looking for a new team is to watch as much of the sport as possible and make the decision from that. Back when I was a wee lad, I ended up cheering for the Vikings because of Moss/Carter/Smith etc back in 1997.

However, it is a little different for a college team as players only stick around for 4 seasons at the best. Pick a team with a sweet tradition like the Ohio band before the game and dotting the i. Maybe look for a head coach you like (Nick Saban is dreamy) or a system you enjoy watching. 3-4, 4-3, 46, 4-4, 5-2, for defences and spread, west coast, run and gun, etc on offences.

And when all else fails, just pick the team with the sweetest jerseys.

UCLA is a great choice. Competitive program, sweet home field, and those gorgeous girls on the sidelines

Johnson14 already mentioned the Hoosiers, of Indiana University in Bloomington, but there are many more teams in my state as well.

Indiana State. IUPUI. Purdue. Notre Dame. Butler.

Just to name a few.
