    Need a Team to Support

I am looking forward to watching the college season this year but need to find a team to support.

So far I have thought about:

The Sooners - APs alma mater
The Hokies - My pastor went to VTech
The Wolverines - Good friend who is from Michigan

Would also like to understand more about the conferences and how that all works PAC10 etc.

Would appreciiate any comments or ideas

Pretty much, anything except for Michigan is fair game.

If you want to NOT look like a bandwagon fan, pick a team that's good, but not a dominant team, one that CAN win a national championship, but isn't favoured to every year. Its easy to pick teams taht always win, my roomate is a Steelers, Canadians, yankees, Duke(bball) and USC (fball) fan.

definitely don't want the whole bandwagon thing. One of the reasons I picked the Vikings.

Whats with Michigan? I thought Notre Dame would have been a no no

I've been a hard-core LSU fan since the beginning of the decade... I don't think they're favored to be so strong this year that you'd be called a band-wagoner.

Also pick a good conference, like Thor says, SEC is pretty good. Lots of good teams tehre. Pac 10 is shit. USC can put all second stringers out there and likely win the conference.

Except that USC isn't eligible to win the title, what with their NCAA penalties and such.

Find some colors you like and then pick the team based on that. It's as proven a method as any other.

    Re:Need a Team to Support

A great team on the rise to watch is the Nebraska Cornhuskers. They have been down for a few years but they are on the rise and will look to make a statement in their last year in the Big 12 North.

I am originally from MN, but when I married my wife from NE the brainwashing began........
