I am not going to argue with you because I thought something similar after their 2 losses in the ACC, and they did drop to 17.
But, to use the words like easily and most is a little strong.

At the least Duke should be rated, just by having 3 losses is 15th.
Duke is the highest rated 3 loss team that there is.
The difference between 10 and 15 is no big deal.

Just looking at the W L alone, you kind of wonder why Clemson in at 17, but then you look at their week, and they lost to the meat of their schedule.
I guess you could cut them some slack, but then amybe the voters knew something we didn't. They came out and dropped two more this week.

    Clemson
    01/3 at Florida State W 68-66 15-0 (1-0)
    01/6 Georgia Tech W 75-74 16-0 (2-0)
    01/9 at North Carolina State W 87-76 17-0 (3-0)
    01/13 at No. 25 Maryland L 92-87 17-1 (3-1)
    01/17 No. 4 North Carolina L 77-55 17-2 (3-2)
    01/20 Boston College W 74-54 18-2 (4-2)
    01/25 at No. 10 Duke L 68-66 18-3 (4-3)
    01/28 Virginia L 64-63 18-4 (4-4)

Maybe in week 8 the Blue Devils were they were over valued at #5 in the country in both polls.
But at that time, to be fair, they still only had one loss and they were carrying the record from last year.

Right now, I think the top ten team that will fall like Duke did is going to be Texas A&M.
Even if they keep winning, the big 12 is soft.
They only play two more ranked teams this season.

They'll probably only lose 4 or 5 more game this year but they're not going to be contenders come tournament time. They don't match up well with the majority of great teams in the country as far as head to head goes and really have inconsistent play all around.

IMO they're a few years off from being national contenders but if one or two players go pro early it might spell bad news for duke.

I think all that time around the tar heels is giving you light blue lenses PPE! I HIGHLY doubt that UNC will beat Duke in Cameron at all, much less by 20.

I think that UNC is a better team (probably a lot better) don't get me wrong, but Duke/UNC is one of those games that has so much emotion and outside meaning that it will always be close, no matter what players line up against each other. It's a rivalry and pride thing, not just a basketball thing.

As far as overrated goes? Probably, but they did bring in one of the best recruiting classes in the nation last year and they have had some bright spots and beaten some decent teams (Gonzaga, Georgetwon, Clemson) and contrary to what SIA said they are NOT the highest ranked 3-loss team. There are 3 or 4 teams ahead of them in the top 10 with three losses.

    5- Ohio State
    6- Texas A&M
    8- Kansas
    9- Pitt

Duke is good, they're just very young. I don't think they are the greatest team in the world or anything, and they probably are a little overrated, but given their reputation and their recruiting class I liken them a lot to UNC last year. They got a 3 seed in the tourney and got knocked out before the Sweet Sixteen, but were still regarded as a good, young team. I think that Duke will probably end up a similar seed and meet a similar fate, but I still see them as the 2nd best in the ACC which is pretty darn good.

I would also argue that a one loss team should be number one but this theory is thrown out when you won the national championship the year before.

I really don't think the gators will win it, I just hope they go far.

I didn't proof read very well, thanks for catching that.

Good point about those other 3 loss teams.

    Good post BTW!

    UCLA lost to Stanford.
