Re: NCAA Basketball
Absolutely love college ball but my team sucks this year. NC State is in rebuilding mode pretty much but we have a great recruiting class and a coach that reminds me of Jim Valvano in Sidney Lowe (was the PG under Valvano in the 83 championship year).
Ben McCauley and Brandon Costner show signs of being great in the future. Costner averages like 16 and 8 as a redshirt freshman and McCauley averages something similiar is a sophomore.. Next year should be a year where this team makes a run at the ACC when we actually have a bench.

The ACC is tough!
Gators are tough!
My Dookies are under the radar this year.
I am looking for them to continue to grow right into tourney season.
They have lost a few, but they have been building off of those losses.
This isn't a championship year, I will say that much.
They don't have the clutch guys to run the point and shoot the rock from the distance.
Gators are definitely the team to beat.
NC is a close second and UCLA even though they have been taken down a few times is the third.
Add Wisconsin and you have a good rep of the final four in a perfect world based on regular season play.
Too bad, that is why we have a tourney.
Go Duke!

Only 4 wins in-a-row behind Wisconsin!
And MY alma mater has won TWENTY in a row and is the last undefeated team in Division III.

I agree SIA, the Dukies aren't a championship caliber team this year. It's kind of sad, but at the same time I understand why. No seniors, one junior and the rest sophomores and freshman spells doom in the tourney. The ACC is tough!

I could see some criticizing Coach K for not recruiting better 3 or 4 years ago to help build a senior class this year, but not only has he had guys leave early, but who wants to come to Duke when they know they can't be a superstar until their senior year because they're playing behind Redick and Shelden Williams? Probably not many.
There are times when I look at this Duke team and they do really great things, and other times they look like retards! I think it all just comes from being so dern young and inexperienced.
That said, Florida is tough as nails again (unfortunately) and Wisconsin is making a lot of noise as well. Same with North Carolina. I have a hard time admitting that they're good, but they are.
Let's go Duke!

He would have been a Sr.
2006-07 NBA Statistics
PPG
17.8
RPG
6.80
APG
2.2
But with that said, the Duke teams have been about discipline and execution (and making shots) but this years team has been lacking consistency in all those areas.
Like I said in the previous post, they are turning it around as they go through some growing pains.
Just hope McRoberts doesn't jump the ship after this year.

Re: NCAA Basketball
Duke is easily the most overrated team in college basketball this year. They are going to get a serious surprise when UNC beats them by 20+ in cameron. They just got lucky and got a free win with that clock controversy.
