National Championship Playoffs

Here is how I came up with this:

1) Conference Winners are determined and ranked by record.
2) Conference Runner Ups are determined and ranked by record.
3) 10 at large bids are determined by remaining best record.

This would of started last weekend. It would take 4 weeks and 1 week for the National Championship.

Too many teams. Needs to be the top 8 or 12 teams.

I mean, you did a great job determining all brackets, but college football is kept shorter than NFL seasons for a reason. There is greater risk for injury with every additional game you play.

I think a champion could be decided between the top 8 teams with a lot less controversy than the current BCS system.

But honestly, nice work with the brackets. I can see this took some time and thought.

The only problem I see with that is how could we determine the top 8 to 12 without using the polls? I do not think injury should be an issue. I see nothing wrong with a longer season. I hope they do something soon because the system now sucks.

I think the best idea I've heard is to take all four of the BCS bowls. (Rose, Sugar, Fiesta and Orange.) The winners of each bowl (8 teams) play one game to get the semifinalists and those 4 teams play again (1 vs 4) etc.
and the two winners play for the National championship. The playoffs begin after the bowl games and play the first two Saturdays in January with the title game the 3rd Saturday in January.

Not bad, better than the current system but it still not fair to champs of not so popular conferences. IMO Illinois, Georgia, and Kansas get in the BCS and are not even runner ups of their conferences but not Missouri who beat Kansas.
