Monkey wrench!

For the second year in a row, a monkey wrench has been tossed into the BCS mix--OSU 27-USC 20.
I don't know about anyone else, but I am getting fed up to my bloodshot eyeballs with dealing with the pocket-protector brigade determining the Champion in Div. I college f-ball!
Every other college sport from womans stamp collecting to mens bottle cap flipping and including the lower divs. of f-ball has a freakn' playoff!
David can beat Goliath--if they would just get a chance.
I love everything about college f-ball--except this!
A very simple solution would be to just format the bowl games to be playoff games.
This would completely eliminate all of the "We don't give a crap .com bowls" and the "totally insignificant.org bowl" which would up the interest in these games and maybe, just maybe put some damn people all those empty seats!
What's your take?

It's about making money, and I guess whoever runs the show believes the bcs system makes the most money.

I agree, but IF that were to happen, it would take forever just to put in place for one reason.... Revenue.
Bowl games make a lot of money, and in the end, NCAA is a business.
They're there to make money.

Until college 1A ball comes up with a playoff system, the national championship means jack diddly squat. As said about.. it is about corporate sponsorship and money; not a actual competition to find the national champions.

I'm not one of the number crunching guys in charge of the NCAA football stuff but I just don't see why this couldn't work.
You can keep all the bowl games you want, just turn the bowl games into a playoff bracket with the different bowls switching around the bracket every year.
You can still advertise the bowl games, you can still make the money, and the championship game still pulls in more than the other bowls like usual.
Win win in my opinion.

I think it has to do with the teams that play the bowl games.
For example, rose bowl is almost always pac10 champ against big 10 champ.
If it were a playoff, that wouldn't always happen.
If the rosebowl were to have Hawaii vs. Kansas, I guarantee they would lose money.

In todays world, it's always about the money. Sad, isn't it.
But if that Hawaii vs. Kansas ended in triple OT, who cares who's on the field.
That Ohio State vs. USC game stunk!!!
I would've rather have watched Hawii vs. Kansas.
