Gopher's Football!

A new Forum and no threads or posts!

So we needed an official Gopher's football thread.

They look great on their 1st drive against Purdue and have not been able to duplicate again so far in the 1st half.

Goph's lead 7 - 3 with 5 to go in the 1st half and they have a drive going.

The Goph's shot themselves in the foot on the last 2 drives of the 1st half, they had a blocked field goal that Purdue recovered for great field position and scored a TD to take the lead at 10- 7.

The Goph's drove the length of the field but had no time outs left and tried a terrible QB sneak from the 5 yard line on 2nd and goal, so they had to hurry a play and tried a pass into the corner of the endzone and it went off the receivers fingertips and was intercepted in the endzone.

So at half time we have a score of 10- 7 Purdue lead,s and they get the ball 1st in the second half.

How do we have a guy run for 170 some odd yards and lose the football game. That is terrible. Turnovers hurt the gophers today. It could be a long year in the big ten.

Yeah. I saw that next week it's Michigan coming to town. I I'm pretty sure they don't plan on loosing.

I agree that those plays at the end of the first half were the key to the game, if the Gophers had scored when they got down to the Boilermakers' 5 yard line with 30 seconds left in the half they'd have won. I loved it when they went back down there in the 3rd quarter, went for it on 4th down and executed a PERFECT play-action fake to Matt Spaeth. That was as good-a play action I've ever seen. And Amir Pinnix was impressive, but there were too many busted coverages on defense. Steven Davis impresses me, tho.
