Re: QB Chase Daniels - One to Watch?
What do you guys know about QB Nate Davis (Ball State)?
Reading on another site (pay for it so I can't give you the link) were the Spielman and some Vikings scouts along with scouts and high-ranking officials within the personnel departments from the Chicago Bears, Houston Texans and San Francisco 49ers are also gonna be in attendance at the game between Ball state and Buffalo to watch him play.
That seems to be some pretty serious interest...... ::)
Anyone know what kindof offense they run up there?
Seems to have a strong arm and a bit mobile.
Sounds like a nice prospect.

(Key Note:
Gonna change the title of this thread from QB Chase Daniels - One to Watch? to College QB's to Watch)
Edit:
Found a scouting report on him....
Quote:
He is a second round talent who, with a great last two months of the season, could sneak into the later stages of the first round. Davis will be a starter in the NFL by 2010.

I don't like Mark Sanchez at #4, ahead of guys like Colt McCoy.
I think the fact he played for USC is boosting his stock a lot.
He's easilly the worst qb they've had there since Carson Palmer, and they still think he's first round material?

I actually found out about Davis by researching Sanchez and Tebow.
Just don't follow enough college ball to know which will/could be a fit for us.
I do know that it appears that several will go long before we pick in the first round which leads me to believe we will see another 2nd day QB selected by the Vikes.
:'(

Colt McCoy
Seems to have arm strength issues as well as size issues.....

ahhh... how a high draft pick sucks...
on that site, i checked out their mock draft, they have us going 22nd overall picking an OT
(which also means they have us losing in the wild card round to probably Arizona)
22.
Minnesota Vikings: Jason Smith, OT, Baylor
I scratched my head when the Vikings neglected to fix the right tackle position this past offseason. Ryan Cook and Marcus Johnson once again have proven to be a pair of turnstiles with legs. Artis Hicks is now playing at right tackle, and he's not the answer either.
Unless more quarterbacks declare and one of them happens to fall to Minnesota, the team should look to address its offensive line woes.
Adding someone of Jason Smith's caliber would allow the Vikings to move Bryant McKinnie around, potentially giving them two elite tackles.

Daniels just stands there and rarely moves in the pocket.
Cannot do that in the NFL.
I also do not like the height issue.
But, he is a good QB.
I like McCoy.
Cross him off the list.
