    Brewster lands Big recruit

Brewster is quietly having a very nioce recruiting year. I really think that in a couple of years this school can compete with the top of the big ten. Just wish he coud of gotten Floyd and his other son to commit here as well.

The Gophers football team got a commitment from a highly regarded quarterback prospect Saturday, when MarQueis Gray made his long-rumored decision official during the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio.

Gray, a four-star recruit from Ben Davis High in Indianapolis, made his commitment by putting on a Gophers cap during a ceremony in the second quarter.

His announcement was a significant development for Gophers coach Tim Brewster, but it was hardly a surprise. His silent verbal commitment -- in recruiting jargon that means he told the Gophers coaches but hadn't said anything publicly -- was a poorly kept secret the past few months. Gray and people close to him refused to confirm it, because Gray had promised organizers of Saturday's all-star game that he would make his announcement on live TV.

"I loved the city, the school, the coaches, the players, everything about it," Gray said Saturday. "I'm also really excited to play in the spread [offense]. It's a great offense. The coaches told me I have a chance to come in and compete for the job."

Rivals.com ranks Gray as the No. 2 dual-threat quarterback in the nation. He was recruited by a number of BCS schools, and had narrowed finalists to Minnesota and Oregon.

Gray is the 25th member of the Gophers' 2008 class, which lists six four-star recruits.

Here is video from the High School all star game.

That is a big pickup for your program. I watched him earlier today and he was pretty impressive. It's not good for Illinois though.

    Go Illinois!

I think th ebalance f powere will be shifting some in the B10 with the teams that were traditionally middle of the pack at best to actual contenders.
I can see both the Ilinni and the Gophers clser to the top over the next few years.

Dangit, I was thinking it was the Stay Puff marshmallow man.
Well a good QB isn't bad, but he's not really that big.
Now the Stay Puff marshmallow man was big.
