Re: Bradford hurt as BYU stuns No. 3 Sooners
Just more proof why the Mountain West conference deserves more respect as well as a bowl bid. BYU took it to OU, BYU had lost 4 of its 5 OL and their best RB and still managed a win, in a "NEUTRAL" Stadium where it was a huge OU crowd.
I'm happy for BYU to continue the streak of MWC teams bringing the pain. Utah, BYU, TCU... deserve a share of the pie.
Its like coach Wit said last year on Jim Rome... Rome asked why doesnt the MWC conf. Scheduel better opponents outside of conference play...Wit responded...we try every year they are scared to play us....Amen Wit.
It was ballsy of OU to let BYU take a shot but kudos to them for it. Roll on MWC.If you promise to be smarter, I will promise to be nicer.

Re: Bradford hurt as BYU stuns No. 3 Sooners
As far as the injury Bradford has players insurance he will be a millionaire regardless. They were talking about it at halftime of the game here locally. He took out some crazy athlete insurance for this season that guarantees him a specific ammount of cash regardless.
"The top three college quarterbacks in the nation, Florida’s Tim Tebow, Oklahoma’s Sam Bradford and Texas’ Colt McCoy, are already thinking about continuing their careers. All three have taken out hefty million-dollar insurance policies in case they suffer a career-ending injury while in college. This summer, McCoy invested in an insurance policy ranging anywhere from $3 million to $5 million. Tebow took out an estimated $2 million, and it is unknown how much Bradford took out."

Never thought about that aspect.
Still, all in all, even if he did take out a 5 Mill policy, that wouldn't make up the difference in a signing bonus between the number one and say number 15 or so.
I am sure some yutz's will think I am trying to compare Bradford to Freeman, which I'm not, but here are some numbers for the QBs from this years class.
Stafford

Sanchez

Freeman

Long story short, this class seems to have some talent in it, and if the injury doesn't come around, then my assumption is teams at the top will opt to take a kid that is healthy vs a kid that might not be ready to go.

If the first injury didn't cost him millions, this one surely did.
Now you got a college QB that is talented, but could now be considered frail or at the least, damaged goods.
Mix that in with his lack of time under center because of the scheme and my guess is he has dropped out of the top 10 in the draft this year.
So sad.
Should have came out and been the number one pick instead of Stafford.

When you're stock is as high as Bradford's was, it's real hard not to enter the draft.
Business needs to come first for these guys as much as we might hate it as fans.
This is there life.
I watched that game and thought the minute it happened that Bradford just cost himself millions of dollars.
Hate to see it happen, but I very much doubt he should have been brought back to play so soon.
thought the same about Tebow as well.
For Tebow it's much more serious.

Slipped to 6th in this one for what its worth.
Again, most prognosticators said he would have been first this year.

Re: Bradford hurt as BYU stuns No. 3 Sooners
If his stock drops out of the top 10 I think we should trade our 1st and 2nd to get him
All depends where we pick and where he lands though I guess
