I think recently, colts/pats deserves some recognition, Seems every year these two teams are playing each other, and they're always great games.
Can't imagine that everyone missed the Colts - Pats rivalry. That might just be the best one in the NFL today, even if it lacks some history.

Man Utd. - Liverpool deserves an honorable mention.

And, for a Dutchman, there's no rivalry as big as Germany - The Netherlands. The WC would be a success if we beat the Germands, regardless of the outcome.

WHILE NOT THE OLDEST, I THINK THE BEST RIVALRY AT ANY LEVEL OF SPORTS, IS NAVY V. ARMY. WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK?

    GO NAVY, BEAT ARMY!!!
Outside of the respetive services, not so much. Watching tv here (all we get is AFN) we see alot of Generals and such doing the GO ARMY Schtick alot, kinda lacks conviction though, as the Mid-Shipman have owned tha Army team for some time. My companies XO was a West Pointer and he could care less about the game......

When I think of "best" of think of it historically.

    Auburn vs. Alabama
Bear vs. Pack (they have played each other a ton)
Yanks vs. Sox (a lot of history there)
    Army vs. Navy
    Oklahoma vs. Texas
    Michigan vs. THE Ohio State
    USC vs. Nebraska

If you're going to go historically, then you missed:

    Harvard-Yale
    Lehigh-Lafayette
    Amherst-Williams
    Oxford-Cambridge

Best does not necessarily mean most well-known.

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

    Alabama vs. Auburn

You can only understand it if you live there... but it's the best rivalry in the country for sure.

You mean Oklahoma vs Nebraska? They really haven't played USC as much as they battled Oklahoma prior to the North South breakup of the Big 12

    SOUTH CAROLINA - Clemson

I'm telling ya'll...we don't get as much publicity as the bigger rivalries, but ours is just as big as any one you can mention. The state of South Carolina has no other sports other than college ball and its either ur orange or garnet. Whether its football or chess, its gonna be a heated and hated match up.
    Ponder this....

Re:THE BEST RIVALRY IN SPORTS IS...

I don't know if they're the greatest rivalries of all time but for me there are some games that are fun to watch even if I'm not a 'fan' of either team.
Tarheels vs Duke - NCAA Basketball
Twins vs White Sox - MLB
    Vikings vs Packers - NFL
    Chargers vs Broncos - NFL
Yankees vs Red Sox - MLB
    Buckeyes vs Wolverines NCAA Football
Steelers vs Ravens - NFL (had some killer games the last couple of seasons)
Twins vs Brewers - MLB (although it isn't what it used to be)

I don't watch enough hockey or basketball really to know any of the great rivals in those sports.

    Thanks Josdin
