That definitely could have some merit.
Although I agree Suh is an animal, He has no stats, And we all know the Heisman voters want gaudy stats, He only has credit for 7 sacks and like 45 tackles (Before todays game) Only the glory positions win it, Lately it seems like only the players from the top 5 teams are in the running, Which is ridiculous, Keenum is killing the other QB's in all the main QB stats (and Houston is 10-2)
    Keenum-160QB rating, 70% completion, 4900yds, 38-6 TD INT
    McCoy-152QB rating, 72% completion, 3200yds, 27-9 TD INT

It's all hype now with college gameday, ESPN, and the other "experts" spending so much time brainwashing us on who should win. If Gerharts 26TD's and 1700yds don't win because he plays for Stanford than the Heisman is a joke.
All hype? Really? You need to update by the way because Keenum LOST and threw three more picks.

You really think McCoy could not throw for 5000 yards and 60 TDs against Houston's garbage schedule?

I don't think McCoy is the Heisman personally ... but he for damn sure should finish higher than a gimmick offense QB in a crappy ass conference. McCoy is on a team that actually runs the ball, plays defense and wins in a REAL conference.

    Not just about hype there.
Oh I must have forgot about Texas's tough schedule with wins over perennial powers like Louisiana Monroe 6-6,(Sun belt) Wyoming 6-6 (Mountain West) UTEP 4-8 (Conference USA), UCF 8-4 (Conference USA) (Yeah thats not a garbage schedule), And the Big 12 bottom feeders Baylor, Texas A&M, and Kansas, none with a winning record, The 3 ranked teams they played are insignificant in the BCS picture, Almost half of McCoys stats came against the first five crap teams mentioned, and, NO-He wouldn't of had 60 TD's.

I don't need an update either, You oddly forgot to mention Keenum had 5 TD's and the Big 12 was nothing special this year (Houston beat the two Big 12 teams they played this year in that REAL conference-part of their garbage schedule right?) Run the ball??? their top rusher has 477 yards, Texas was 5th in the Big 12 in rushing yards.

I'm not sure what you think I was saying, Yes, ESPN college gameday and every other sports show talks non stop about Tebow, and Ingram, and barely mention anyone else, That to me is hype, and to say all those shows don't influence people is crazy.

I'll try my hardest to never disagree with you again. Crappy ass conference, Gimmick offense, Garbage schedule, Real Conference, I wasn't trying to bash McCoy, just putting up stats, Kinda defensive there aren't we? I was originally talking about Tebow being treated as colleges best player ever.
Even if the Vikings lose, I can still find happiness in Bears, and Packer losses.

Sorry that you think me giving facts is a tough response. But there is a reason Keenum is not in the running. It is because he is a gimmick and is not the best player.

You can be a "media whiner" like everyone else who blames EVERYTHING that does not go their way on the media being "biased" but it simply is not close between these two players.

It is OBVIOUS that Texas plays a tougher schedule than Houston because the Big 12 bottom feeders are 10x better than the middle of Conference USA. There is a reason the Big 12 has a SIGNIFICANTLY higher conference rating than Conference USA and it is not because of bias.

Keenum threw the ball nearly 200 TIMES more than McCoy. So to say that Texas does not run the ball more is simply naive. Texas also plays defense, which means that they don't give up scores in 45 seconds just to get the ball back and rack up some stats.

Average out the stats and if McCoy throws the ball another 200 TIMES he would dominate Keenum. Keenum is a gimmick QB, in a gimmick offense playing against lesser opponents. Those simply are facts.

McCoy also went undefeated while Keenum could not even win his weak conference. Keenum lost to a 4-8 UTEP team while playing for a possible BCS-buster bid and lost to a 9-4 East Carolina team when playing for a conference title.

I personally would not vote for McCoy. I would definitely lean toward Suh, Ingram and Gerhart. But Keenum most certainly has NO CASE what-so-ever.

The more I think about it ... a DT that plays in the Big 12 and records 12 sacks, 82 tackles, 10 passes defended and an interception probably should run away with it.

Those are FACTS, I'm sorry if those are tough, Those are BULLSHIT teams there. So NO-It's not OBVIOUS Texas plays a tougher schedule (See above teams AGAIN)

AGAIN, YES the media does hype up certain players they deem glamorous, That doesn't make me a MEDIA WHINER, It makes me a normal person who watches ESPN all day listening to Mike and Mike, Scott Van Pelt, Colin Cowherd, Jim Rome, Doug Gottlieb, First Take, ALL talk about TEBOW all day for two months.

Wow! I didn't know that you were the Expert on college football and all the conferences strength of schedules, I'm sorry I thought I had an opinion from the 29 years of watching college football, I'll do more research next time so I'm not Naive, or a Whiner, thanks for the insight.

    Re:2009 Heisman watch

Disclosure: I am biased because I am a Husker fan.

Suh's stats are decent, but if you just watch him play you see why he's being mentioned for the Hypesman.

He tackles DI athletes by grabbing them with one arm and throwing them down. He shoves 300 lb offensive linemen back like he's playing against high schoolers.

He singlehandedly takes over games and has been absolutely pivotal in some games (Colorado last year, Mizzou this year, Texas in the Big 12 CCG).

I hope he at least gets a trip to NYC...it's unlikely that he'll win b/c he's a DT, but he is amazing to watch.

Sometimes I wish the Vikings were tanking the season so we could end up with him...I hope he stays out of the NFC North.
