because there's too many idiots in the regular chat.
You don't even need to be a member of the site to get in the regular chat.
however, the cutoff for HOF chat is so low, that at one point last year it wasn't much better.
Most people who have been here more than a year have over 1250 posts.
Hell, some guys will put that up in a week depending on whats going on and whether they like arguing with C Mac.
(seems like a good way to up your post count)

I like more people to hear what I have to say so I just do reg chat. I don't really follow the chat at all or read anything in it so it doesnt matter to me
