Which is why the next goddamn idiot to follow should fix it so the same mistake isn't repeated downstream for all the other fucking morons to duplicate when they add their 2cents that no one actually gives a shit about.
...and what the hell are you talking about?
You, sir, deserve to be anally raped by Woo's Brown Eye.

    Re: Axel's Outhouse

Axel was a Gamecocks fan just here to get high of sniffing Rice's crotch.

The whole point about keeping quotes reasonable is fine.
Some people need to learn how to do that.
But his whole tirade was reterded.
Maybe you don't remember his posts.

Uhhhh...I'm just saying that if you had half a brain in your small head you'd not bore people with unedited quotes.

I guess everyone with more than half a brain has moved down south of your location, judging by your comments.

We're glad to have your best down here.
    Thanks!
But biggest thanks to you for staying right where your dumb ass is.

Yellow Card for pulling a quote totally out-of-context and posting it.

That quote was a response to 10 or so attack responses, so I more see of it as a little bit of immature giving back what you had been getting.

There is no context that excuses that.

    Re: Axel's Outhouse

There, I took all the post from this thread and made one huge quoted post.
Is this what he was talking about?

    Good riddance!
    Short enough?
Sorry, but I agree with him, so send me to hell if you want.

There are a lot of times when someone is being quoted that their entire post does not need to be quoted when only a paragraph or few sentences will suffice. I've see long entire articles & posts quoted over & over, when only one particular sentence in it was all that was needed.

I shorten quotes all the time & notice several others do to. I view it as being easier for the person reading my post to see only the pertainent information, rather than look at a page long quote just to see one comment that is highlighted in bold.

The difference here though, is I don't force or request others to do it.

Let he who has never shortened someone elses quote cast the first stone.
I don't agree with that sentiment.

Perhaps he was a bit of a dick in his approach, but the message was spot on.
In a text-based forum, the use of the Quoting functions is essential to maintaining the flow of the "conversation" in any thread.

And quoting an entire Wall O' Text (WOT) just to chime in with "Yeah!" at the end is the height of idiocy.

I only had to go back 1 day from your post to find one you shortened.
Sometimes you can't shorten them because the context is lost.
When you can it is best to do so.
    I disagree.
There is fat to be trimmed from almost any quoted reply.

    Almost any, key words.
I agree that most can be, but some cannot be, especially if they are poorly written and you aren't quite sure what they are saying.
Are those even worthy of being quoted?
Yes, because it is usually an idiot or a troll and it is important to give evidence as to why you are ripping them a new asshole.
Okay - here's a perfect example of what Axel was getting at in his original missive.

I am responding ONLY to you.
I am not responding to ANY of the previous posts which were automatically pulled into the quoting.
So I have trimmed the quotes only to show yours and not needlessly and endlessly repeating the 5 previous posts.
Personally, how can it not be obvious, but it isn't apparently.
You quote what you are addressing.
If it's the flow of the whole conversation and it is relevant than quote it.

It is just as annoying to have a post floating listlessly in space that is addresssing something and you have to go back into the thread to figure out what in the hell they are talking about.

Bottom-line is that there are all levels of idiots on this site.
With >7,000 members we will never agree.
If you don't like the topic or the way someone posts then don't read it.
    Nobody will care either way.
To sit here and try to dictate how someone quotes, spells, uses grammar, or other trivial things is pointless.

I would rather concentrate on destroying the content of the post iif it is warranted.
There is this cool thing you get now adays. They make a mouse with a scroll wheel in the middle...... it's so neato....you can use it to scroll down from the top of a page to the bottom. It also works on that finger strength for important things like picking those wild hairs out of your ass that makes you feel entitled enough to judge the way someone quotes.

OMG the reply is 3inches bigger OH NOES....Nettiq uette....blah blah blah.

And I need to get a life? GTFO you stress over this shit and I am a dork? FO
If you'd fucked those fishing lesbians, you wouldn't be so bitter.

You actually make a great point there. I can't argue with that
    I have a mouse.
    His name is Mr. Jingles.
He gunna be in da mouse circus down in Florida.
What many of you are forgetting is that if you ask somebody to shorten a quote, you are only asking for it to be really fucked up.
Some people try and fail, miserably.
If they accidentally delete one of the tag brackets, [ or ], then it really looks like shit and you do not know who the fuck is saying what.

If someone is all bent out of shape over a quote, get the fuck off the site.
Yeah, I hate when that happens.
    LMAO.
Nice one, Cogs. But please, God, I hope Ultra doesn't take that as a challenge to do what is suggested.
Which is why the next goddamn idiot to follow should fix it so the same mistake isn't repeated downstream for all the other fucking morons to duplicate when they add their 2cents that no one actually gives a shit about.

I had a good reason for stopping there.
I was afraid the internet was going to tell me where babies came from before my parents had the chance to have the talk with me.

You, sir, deserve to be anally raped by Woo's Brown Eye.

Hmm....this thread has lost my interest.

Quote what is necessary, take out what is not necessary.

    What a simple rule

    It's not a rule though.

It is done out of courtesy by those who opt to do it.
