They are where some of America's most notorious and gruesome crimes took place — the homes where murderers like Jeffrey Dahmer and John Wayne Gacy killed or stashed their victims.

I just took a class about forensic psychology last semester so i know all about dahmer and gacy. I think it would be interesting to check these places out, but I dont think I could live in one of these places knowing what happened behind the walls.

Re: Houses of Horror: What Happens After the Crime

A friend of mine from high school, his father did okay and owned some properties.
One of those properties ended up being where a little girl died from abuse.
For years and years after, people would drive by yelling, throwing garbage, and far, far worse - long after those responsible had been convicted and sent to jail.
Every year the town would have charity drives in the name of the girl who died, and the abuse would start again.
The property was not only unsellable and unrentable, but to make matters worse due to his father's losing his job (completely unrelated) he had to sell his house and - yep, you guessed it, move in to that property.

As much of a living hell as it was, it could have been worse.
There were actually two houses on the property, and both were set well back from the street.
My friend lived in the small house closer to the street while his parents lived further back, somewhat sheltered from the crap of the passer-bys.
Not a fun situation to be forced in to.

It would depend on the crime Gacy and Dahmer the places gotta go. I'm shock the Mason house did not go as well. OJ deal it was outside not inside and it did not keep happening. The mason because the Tate was with baby so it would need to be torn down.

    Either way it's just sad.

Well they ripped down the house in Crandon this weekend.. which in my opinion is the right thing to do.. destroy it and try to move on.. I don't think I could live in any house in which someones life was taken by force...

Before reading the article, I'm going to assume that the house where the List murders took place is on it.

    Westfield, NJ. My hometown.

Happened the year my mom's family moved here.
