I wouldn't sleep if I were you. I've read that the female roaches will crawl inside your orifices at night & will lay her eggs in the wall of the intestine or inside your ear. When the eggs hatch, they feed on the nearest flesh they can find.

Well let this be a waring to anybody coming down for the Vikings/Cardinals game - Don't stay at the La Quinta Inn by the PHX airport.
Unless you are used to or enjoy the company of roaches while you sleep.
I was feeling lonely but this isn't what I had in mind.

I only stayed here because I only needed one more night to get a free night stay on my points card that I started a couple years ago.
It's back to Marriott and Holiday Inn for me.
It's a shame too because La Quinta offers pretty nice rooms for a good price.
    Lots of laughs!

    You northerners are such pussies.
    LOLA!

In TX, I had a 3 month plan with some heavy duty pesticide.
Occasionally one would wind up dead on my property.
If I did see a live one, I knew he was going to die.
I know people that have had problems with them but those people were usually slobbish.

    Don't blame the LQ.
I have stayed in many LQs and only had a problem with one.
LQ is cool and it is one of the best hotels for the $$, a good value.

Sorry to hear about your stay there.

Reasons like this are why I am happy I live in Canada. No bugs ever.
I don't think that is a true statement.
They just aren't as predominant in the north.
The little German Roaches or Brown that one might see I think are worse than the big ones.
The are stealthier and they hide better, you might not even know you have them.
    LOL!

Yeah, I know they are no big deal to people in the south but damn...I'm not used to having big ass bugs crawling through my living room at night.
    Roaches seem so dirty too.
I used to live in the basement so I got used to living and getting bit by spiders all the time, I guess roaches are just another thing a person has to get used to.

And you right about LQ...they do offer good service and good accommodations at a great price.
But still...there are roaches in that particular hotel- If I was going back to PHX, I'd try my luck at a different hotel since at least there I would have a chance at not having roaches in my bed.
For all I know though they are everywhere down there.
All the hotels are probably infested to some degree.

I always stayed on the North side of town. I never saw a roach in any of the hotels up there.

Kind of freaky for a country boy like me to watch the police helicopters flying around with their spotlights on looking for criminals at night though. That happened a lot.

The area around the airport isn't a real great part of town. I doubt that has much to do with roaches though.

I had roaches and mice run across my sleeping body when I was in 'Nam. I had a roach run up my leg once. I hate those things.

Roaches, mice, rats, and humans with B.O., all are disgusting and gross me out.
