Re: Breaking News: Reuters: Annheuser-Bush agrees to 50 billion takeover by InB
bfd
If it makes Busch more profitable, then better for them, (and all of us)
Either way we'll still get our bud one way or another, and probably won't notice the difference.
Chuch.

Old Style?don't like bud anyway.
when i was younger, growing up in la crosse wis., we used to drink old style. then we would pee in the river,(missippi) where it would float downstream and they would make budweiser out of it. ;D
I thought in that neck of the woods, that people were genetically programmed to drink Leinenkugel.
old style was made in la crosse. the worlds largest 6 pack was at the brewery.
It still is the largest, but it's not Old Style anymore.

I didn't know you grew up in LaCrosse, marshallvike. I grew up in Winona & live just across the river from there now.

I lived in Ashland, Wi for 5 years and went to College there. The guys I knew from your area were drinking Leinies ( Or if they were broke, they drank Schaeffer). I am totally unfamiliar with Old Style but it looks like they were more important than I knew.

I didn't even think of that.
By the way, it was St. Ides 40s tonight, surprisingly good for a $2 40, lmao!

Not to mention the profits that used to fuel the local economy in that area will now be sent to Europe. That should really be a great thing for the region, state and for our country. I think I'll put that flag back on my SUV. (You know, the one they sell at the convenience store that is made in China)."aceclown" wrote:

Re: Breaking News: Reuters: Annheuser-Bush agrees to 50 billion takeover by InBev
Did anyone else catch the Budweiser commercial during the allstar game last night.
It went on and on about how proud they are of the family tradition that is put behind the beer.
WTF is that?
Seemed like poor timing but I missed the beginning of it, so maybe it had something to do with the sale.

Re: Breaking News: Reuters: Annheuser-Bush agrees to 50 billion takeover by InBev
btw, from what i hear from a friend, heres what they've said as for their plans for Budweiser and AB
They will be keeping the franchise name more or less, it will now be know as "Annheuser-Bush-InBev" from what i hear.
Budweiser production etc will remain unchanged, they have no intentions of altering the beer in anyway, its already successful, but... They plan on doing what Annheuser should have done, and thats introducing it to 12-16 more countries than its currently distributed.
Budweiser is already known and recognized internationally, because it helps sponsor world events and has its logo all over the place (they've been an Olympic sponsor in the past), so selling it in new markets won't be much of a problem

From what I read they are planning on selling their own beer in mass quantity that they currently sell in small amounts in certain areas of the country.
Who knows, maybe they have some tasty brew.
