Ok here is the deal. I am helping my brother in law sell his ipod. Since he is dirt poor and working like 3 jobs I told him I would put it on craigslist for him since i woudl have some time and he could probably get the most value selling it out right. Since I am well aware of the scam going on I decided to have some fun with one.
I shoul dof kept the original e-mai but I figured "How stupid could they be right?
Well anyways the basics of the e-mail said tha they were interested and that they would offer a additional 100 dollars if I was willing to send it over seas. All they needed was my paypal address.
So I said sure why not Lets just make one up.

I have gotten a few of these. Why they all want to ship to Nigeria? If they paid me in paypal, what is the problem sending my DSLR over with signature required and enough insurance?
I did check my real paypal account and there is a way to send an invoice to any other paypal account.

The money that they supposedly sent was the wrong amount. It was supposed to be $417. The original account holder lives in Louisiana (though shipping address can be different, Nigeria...come on). I also checked my PayPal account to see if there was any money in there and there was none, nor waiting for confirmation.

They just plug in your paypal address into a prefab email that makes you think that the money was sent and rcvd through Paypal.
Then I suppose you send your item to them and they resell it.
