You have more than one button to click?"jkjuggalo" wrote:
I don't know what kind of macbook you have or if mine is different but in the system preferences you can change it to have a right click.MacBook is definitely the way to go.
You can run any PC operating system on a Mac if you just buy this program:

My laptop has been great the last two years.
No problems at all.
Meanwhile my Dell PC has been a constant headache for the past year.
My only complaint is their is no right click (you hold control and click instead).
Otherwise I find Macs are more user friendly.
You can't go wrong with Mac!
I just have one big one under my touch pad.

Re: Looking for info on Laptops..
Just recieved this mail from a member of "Freecycle" WH, CT...
I have a laptop.
It is an IBM thinkpad.
It is running Windows 95.
That is how old it is.
I know it does not have wireless internet and to be honest I never tried.
My wife used it for school, solely for word processing.
If you are interested it is all yours.
Craig
I left him a messege, and will call back again, but is this type of laptop what I"m looking for.
I want to run a cord from where my computer is now and use my service from Comcast.
I"ll be in my bedroom most the time, only 12 feet away...Figure I can lay the laptop on my chest.
Any comments on the mail and laptop offered?
It sure is nice of the guy to offer it to me.

I LOVE THE SMELL OF VICTORY IN THE MORNING AIR.

I can get you one at no cost I think.
I will check Monday.
Its about 2 yrs old, a Dell.
Woulda been Ultra's but I got him a diff machine.
I just need to see if we still have it.
Wireless, etc.
Depending on specs for that one, though, most likely it will be a little slow, but you can surf and check email I am sure just fine.

My wife suggested today that we buy a laptop for me to use, seeing I'm going to be bed bound for the next 3 months.
If anyone has one for sale or knows of a friend trying to sell one, I'de like to read about it here.
Also, any and all recommendations about buying a used or new laptop would be very helpfull.
Would be really nice if all we had to do is buy an extra long cord also ( about 12 ft ) to reach from my service I have now to the laptop itself.
If this will even work at all.
Thanks gang.
ned
I will send you a cord that will reach a bit more than that my friend.
You don't mind if the cable is blue in color do you?
;D

Just change preferences.
If you have the ching and a bit a patience, you will never regret the change.
If you MUST have windows, you can run it in parallel with Mac using Parallels or VMWare.
But if you just use web surfing, a little word processing, and email, you really are missing out by not experiencing a headache free life on the mac.
Safari is great, and Firefox 3 is schwweeeet.
This comes from an original Apple IIE guy way back, through Mac, switched to Windows for a while until Apple got their head out of their ass, and made Macs with Intel and OSX based on Unix at which time I switched back.
Great systems.
That matters nothing to the end user, as it "just works".
For us gearheads, its fun to know though.
Basically, I go where I get the best for my dollar.
That's where its at today.
Too many hidden costs in Windows and the machines that run it.

I agree with Webby! I just got a MacBook Pro during Christmas break, and now that I have the time Leopard will be installed, and I'll set it up the way I want. Great computer once you get use to them.[move]"Our day WILL come!! I just hope I LIVE long enough to see it!"[/move]
