That's because there is no market for it. IMO those who write virus, write the anti-viruses as well. Since there are a ton more Windows based PC's/laptops out there, that is who they'll target.

If the day comes where MAC's have the biggest share of the market, I'll bet you'll see them targeted with viruses & anti-virus S/W.

Keep in mind here folks that Ned is not looking for a state of the art brand new laptop.

He's looking for something hopefully in the $200 dollar or less range for something used or refurbished that's for sale due to someone upgrading or getting a newer model. If new, I think he'd like to stay $300 or less.

That tends to leave the MAC's out of the equation.

He just needs something to use while he's bedridden so he can surf the net & check out his forums.

They last and don't get viruses so you don't have to deal with all that anti spy ware crap. You are the only one that has used my laptop and hasn't changed their mind about PC.

I bought two computers. One for me & one for Jing. How many people have 5 year old MAC's? Didn't you just have to have your HD replaced already?

There's a lot of money to be made writing viruses & selling spyware & anti-virus S/W They are going to target whichever type of PC/laptop that has the biggest share of the market. Once MAC's achieve that, if ever, they will become the new target.

How much did I pay for that HD?? Oh yeah nothing. How much would you have to pay to get your HD fixed? I bet quite a bit more then that and you would have to pay someone to install it for you. Um your computer is not 5 yrs old you just bought it because you were having problems with your other one.

If I recall you bought a new one gave me your first one had bought one from work and then bought the one you just got.....That is 4 computers...and I only had the one you gave me for 2yrs...which by the way crashed all the time. MUAHAHAHA

MacBook is definitely the way to go.
You can run any PC operating system on a Mac if you just buy this program:

My laptop has been great the last two years.
No problems at all.
Meanwhile my Dell PC has been a constant headache for the past year.
My only complaint is their is no right click (you hold control and click instead).
Otherwise I find Macs are more user friendly.

You can't go wrong with Mac!
