How about a hotel room.
Sounds like LNAD and his crew already bought up most of them.

Those were for the game in GB.
Plenty of rooms left in Minneapolis for the MNF game.

I thought all we did on this board was state whether we wanted Favre or not, than go back to work for an hour only to come back on and make another post about whether we wanted Favre or not.
It's a cycle.
I wonder what we'll talk about once Favre is a Viking.

CmacD and I are having fun in the "Cliche'" thread I started.
Not sure what the point of that thread is, but always good to discuss Vikings with ya, Marr.

Still though... can't wait till offseason is over.

I had no plans to attend or I would have been there. No excuses.

Here's a weather recap.

A sharp cold front associated with this storm swept across the state during the day on Saturday. This front reached the Twin Cities between 3 and 4 in the afternoon. The temperature dropped 11 degrees in an hour from 20 degrees at 3pm to 9 degrees at 4pm and the winds switched from calm at 3pm to westerly at 17mph with gusts to 26mph an hour later. There was also a small burst of heavier snow with this frontal passage, dropping visibilities briefly to a half mile. By midnight the temperature was -10 at the Twin Cities International Airport.

Some blowing and drifting snow, along with bitterly cold windchills dominated the state on Sunday, December 22.

I love tailgating!
Oh yeah your definetly a true fan. You were there for the Washington game in 07, during a snowstorm.
I don't think there was a tailgating group for that one either, had to stand by some random persons fire, pretending I knew someone.
Couldn't find the weather report, it was 12/23/2007 8:15 kickoff.

Edit: maybe there was tailgating but they just packed up early.
I was also there.
With Sno.
I walked around with a 12-pack of Grain Belt Premium, looking for someone to drink wtih when I found him, LOL!
We got kicked out of the souvenier tent for smoking and drinking, a-holes!

No tailgate that I could find.
On the cold, cold, snowy days, someone needs to kick Webby in the jiggly butt to get him moving!

I got there late because I had to drive through a blizzard from St. James on north. Ran in to jmcdon and the PP.O area was empty.
I wish the team would have worked as hard as I did that night!

I missed that one, but not because of the weather.
Just got a new big screen plasma, had no tickets, and the wife wanted me to stay home and watch the game with her and the boy.
I pulled myself from contention around 6:30 PM.
If it wasn't for the new big screen I would have been there.
:P
Whatever, the wife cracked the whip. Plus you didn't want to drive down there on a sunday night in the snow. The TV was still there the next day.
You did partially redeem yourself this year though, some cold as titties tailgating.

LOL, I don't think you could be any more incorrect with the first 2 statements.
Although there may have been something about it being a Sunday night.
Some of us have to work Mondays.
And some of us (me) didn't think ahead back then to take the damn day off work.
Now I take every day off following a night game - it makes the game much more enjoyable.

The TV may have been there the next day but the game wouldn't have been on.
Those were the days pre-HD Tivo.
Was watching with rabbit ears.
That's the last Vikings game I missed including preseason games and yet I never regretted not going.
May have regretted it if we won, but not going certainly worked in to my favor that time.
Cheap beer, front row seat, no traffic!
No hour long drive home to sulk in the aftermath of a loss (that's probably the worst part about losses).
Ugly game by the Vikings though.

Plus I don't know what you guys are talking big for - it wasn't even cold that night.
Just a whimpy snowing.
I drive through 100 miles of that shit every time it snows M-F.
I guess it just becomes second nature living and commuting in wintery climates.
When not in a hurry it's a very peaceful enjoyable drive IMO - nothing like cabin traffic in the summer.
Blah!

I really wish they wouldn't bundle the tickets...this year myself and 7 other people are trying to get to the game and with half of us being a 6 hr drive away it is kind of a waste.
Especially a preseason game for the expense of it all.
Hopefully they will at least bundle them with another reg season game.
Obviously with 8 of us trying to get decent seats all together its a tough call but getting the tickets as soon as they come out is our best chance otherwise it ends up being ticket brokers or whatever for at least double the price.
Unfortunately, they WILL bundle the tickets with a preseason game.
The reasons are obvious:

The Packers game is the 'most in demand' Vikings home game there is.
No one wants to pay full price for exhibition game tickets.
Therefore, the Vikes can sell unwanted ex game tix at full price to people who want to make sure they get Packer game tix.
Also, bundling takes away incentive for brokers, scalpers, and Packer fans to buy Pack tix (since they have to pay 2X face).
Local Vike fans may not like buying ex game tix at full price, but at least they will likely go to the ex game if they get the tix.

Even with bundling, if Favre is signed, expect the tickets for the Packer game to sell out within an hour or so after tickets go on sale.

I know last year they ended up switching out the preseason game for the Carolina game towards training camp.
I wonder if they will do that again this year?
I can't imagine them having too much difficulty selling out this game now that Favre wears purple.
I could be wrong, but I don't believe this actually happened until the final home preseason game was over.

After the preseason game is over, if there are any tickets left, the bundle will switch to the Packers game and a late season low interest regular season game, like the Bengals.
There will never be an opportunity to buy the Packer ticket by itself.
Even so, I doubt the tickets will last that long.
If/When Fav-re is signed, the tickets will sellout rather quickly IMHO.

That being said, buying two tickets at face value is probably still cheaper than buying one off fro a reseller.
And at least that way you get to see a preseason game as well.

No such doubts about where my loyalties lie.

I'm in the hunt for 2 tickets to the MNF Pukers game. First time over from the UK and so looking forward to it.
Mark,

Welcome to the board.
I'm not on here as much as I used to be, but oh well.
I have season tickets, but live 700+ miles away and can only afford to go to one or two games a year, and then I sell the rest of my tickets.

Let me preface this by saying I am a capitalist.
I usually sell my Packer game tickets because they fetch well over face value...usually 3X or more...and thus go a long way toward paying for my season tickets (especially when I take a bath on the preseason games that I pay full price for and practically have to give away).
I'd rather my tickets go to Vikings fans, but I'm still looking to get "market value".
If Favre signs with the Vikings, demand for tickets for this game will be crazy.

Not sure what you are looking to pay for tickets, where you are wanting to sit, or anything of the sort.
Suffice it to say that you might see tickets go anywhere from 2X (if you are very lucky) to 5X the face price for this game, depending on the original price.
My advice to you is to try and buy tickets to the game online from the box office(or through whomever had the buddy Kent in the ticket office) first.
You'll probably have to buy tickets for an exhibition game you don't want/can't go to, which you can re-sell but for only a fraction of what you paid for them.
But you'll essentially only pay about 2X the face price for your Packer tickets.

But as I said, I'd prefer my tickets go to Vikings fans.
I'll sell you my two tickets for the Packer game for $180 (for the pair, not each).
They are in Section 213, Row 25, seats 11 and 12.
Yes, this is far more than I paid for them, but I expect to be able to sell them for this much or more if Favre signs with the Vikings.
As far as the $30 box office face price tickets go, these are about the best in the stadium in terms of location.

http://www.vikings.com/Resources/images/158447.pdf

Seats in the first row directly below me cost $60 each at the box office.
If Favre doesn't sign with the Vikings, I'll let you have the tickets for $150.

If you wind up buying two $30 seats from the box office when tickets go on sale, and you have to buy two exhibition game tickets as well, you'll pay about $147 to TicketMaster ($30 X 4 tickets, plus a $6.75 per ticket service charge), and most assuredly the ticket location won't be as good as my seats.
If you move up to the next highest price point ($48 tickets), you'll pay about $219 to TicketMaster.
You might get seats in a much lower row than my seats, or you might not (and likely, you'll be more in/toward the end zone).
And I'm sure you can find much, much better seats, at progressively higher prices.
But there are few bad seats in the house, you'll have a blast even in the top row of the end zone as long as the seats aren't "limited view" (which should be disclosed and will usually be listed as a section followed by LV).

I'll hold my tickets for you until after the Vikings put single game tickets on sale, to give you a chance to get the best possible seats from the box office.
If you decide you want (or don't want) my tickets, just let me know.
Otherwise, I'll be checking with you soon after tickets go on sale to see if you've gotten a deal more to your liking.

Pat - Mark called the Vikings ticket office and bought a couple tickets earlier this week.
He is set (just answering for him because he might not be on - I'm sure he'll supply more details).

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

Thanks for the heads up, Zeus.
Do you know if Mark had to buy preseason game tickets in order to get the Packer tickets or not?
Did they do Mark a special favor because he is coming from the UK?
I suspect there are more than a couple of fans on here that would like to get Pack tickets at face and beat the box office to boot.
I already had one other poster send me a PM about my tickets, but they only wanted one ticket.
Can whomever has Kent at the box office as a buddy help out any of our other fellow posters?

Pat - Mark's PM doesn't say whether or not had to buy the package or whether or not he got some special consideration due to his weird accent.
Hopefully he'll see this thread and fill in the gaps.

I had not yet given him Kent's number (Kent is my ticket guy), so I'm guessing he just called up and said "Here's the deal."

My advice at this point is to call the ticket office (612-338-4537) and ask.
Never hurts to ask.
