Suggestions To Make The Site Better

First, I just want to say that the PurpePride.org is a great site and everyone who contributes to this site does a fantastic job.
However, there are always room for improvements and I think it's sad that some of the nice features in the old version of the site has been dropped in the new layout.
Kinda like the Madden-series.

Here are my suggestions to make PurplePride.org better:

1. Bring back the polls!
Members could create their own polls in the old layout and I thought it was an interesting and fast way to see the members' opinion instead of going through hundreds of comments.

2. Bring back the edit button!
Yes, we already have an edit button, but it's not the same as the old one. The new edit button can only be used in a short time after you have made the post. For instance, the thread under the tittle "Al Harris Is A Free Agent" should be renamed since Al Harris signed with the Dolphins after the thread was posted.

3. Stop the "Berserker Yell" from jumping down when someone posts a message!
The chat window is a nice feature to the site, but when I scroll up to read previous messages it automatically jumps down to the last message when someone posts a new one. It can get damn annoying when the chat is busy. With that being said, the "older message" feature can be really helpful sometimes, but shouldn't be necessary when I just want to read some recent messages without being interrupted.

4. Reorganize the "Forum Categories" into a more simpler structure!
The three general forums are OK: "Vikings & Football Talk", "Purplepride Lounge", and "Archived Boards". However, I don't like how the sub-forums are organized. For instance, I think the ""Weekly Opponent Talk" and "Gameday Previews" should be merged. Same goes for "The Clubhouse" and "Two Beer Minimum" because they don't have a clear line between them.

I'm now familiar with the forum, but I remember that it was really confusing in the beginning. A better structure would make it easier for both the users and the moderators as it will be easier to know where to post.

5. Improve the "Search Forum" function!
I don't have any information on what the search function is based on, but I can say that it's not how it should be. A suggestion is to make the search word a much bigger priority in the thread tittle. For instance, I tried to search for "Camarillo" and I looked through 6 pages where I found threads like "The Official Fire Childress Thread", "Hands off the panic buttons!", "Time to bench the 20 million dollar man", and "Bernard Berrian defends himself" before I found an actually relevant thread.

That's what I can think of right now, but I'm sure there are more members with ideas on how to improve our beloved site.

+1 I can't access the site at all from my iphone, which sucks because I'm on that more than the computer.

Have you tried the Opera mini browser? I hadd all kinds of problems until I installed that one. now things work pretty great.

On my dare, it worked well and all buttons responded but it wouldn't let me stay logged in.

Now on my incredible it won't highlight the 'login' button. It could be the phone or screen sensitivity, but i don't think so.
