vikes, when you put in the font at the top there will be a bar that can drop down.

right now it's on regular for you, put it on smooth or whatever looks nice...will look LOADS BETTER

I was going to give the same comments. Below is a pic of the tool bar you should see when you have the text tool selected. The drop down I have open is the anti-aliasing options. You have "none" selected. Any of the other four options will make the text look smoother. Just try them out.
