I talked to a few of the minions here at work and they recommended either Regclean or Regcure.

I went ahead and downloaded the Regcure version. $39.99 and ran it last night and didn't have one issue with anything much to my suprise.

After doing that, defragment your computer. Defragmenting should be done on a regular basis especially if you do a lot of downloading of files/software.

If you are going to use a reg cleaner, create a restore point.

Another option is to run msconfig & turn off all the unnecessary programs that fire up under startup everytime you reboot.

If you are running Norton Antivirus, get rid of it & run Avast (it's free). Norton is a CPU hog & will slow up your laptop.

I will also give this a try but my laptop seemed to be better after doing a few things you guys suggested.

Your best bet is to simply lay off the porn sites...or at least find ones that don't plant things on your computer.

Very funny. I don't surf porn on my laptop.

I, too have used Regcleaner and I also have "Advanced System Optimizer" and "CCleaner." I have found that one picks up something the others may have missed. They are all free and I run them all every week. Never a problem.
