Pinned thread idea
I love the Allen thread but with 100 plus pages it can be difficult for the casual PPOer to come in and follow what is happening with out having to search page after page.
I know its to late now but could we maybe have a pinned thread with just updates that are posted to it by one of the Mods if we have another similar type of situation? Just a locked thread with only links and updates ect. So anyone can just come through and check the links and get updates? I know with the draft coming up it may also make sense to have just one pinned thread on each pick that can contain info on said pick. And then have a Mod(I nominate Ultra) have a thread started for each pick that would be unlocked after the pick was made much like the post game thread tat happens after each game. Just my 2 cents on trying to make the Mods job easier, and you guys do a great job but with out having to lock up, merge or delete 20 threads for each pick.

Re: Pinned thread idea
Problem 1 with that idea is how many mods actually post articles?
Problem 2 is if a link/article is PMed to a mod, how long will it be until it get's posted? You don't see a lot of them online a lot other than Ultra, RK or Shock.
He'd have to go thru the thread regularly & copy & paste the articles into a new thread.
Besides, you don't have to go back to far in that thread to find the most recent news. It's easy to quickly scan backwards through it & find links to articles.

Re: Pinned thread idea
80%+ of readers do not even read the entire thread if it is 2 pages.
They read the first post and reach for the "Reply" key; it's quite obvious.
The regular members will keep up with the discussion because they are on so often that they can easily catch-up by reading a few pages.

GG I'd say about 80% of the people around here just read the first post and hit reply.

By "reading the first post" in a thread are you referring to the most recent post or the oldest? It appears you mean the most recent, but in many cases the most recent post is on the last page."ultravikingfan" wrote:

It all depends on if you have your format set up to have the oldest post appear first on pg1 or the most recent post first on pg1.

I must be a real PPO yutz.
I have it set up so that the newest post is on the last page. I also try to go back to my last post and read everything in between.
Is that sick or what.
